About me

I first decided I wanted to train to be a psychotherapist through my own experience of therapy as a client. I was supported to work through painful experiences and found this life-changing. This inspired me to want to explore psychotherapy from the other side of the room and offer the service to others.

I am undertaking a four-year Diploma in Relational Integrative Psychotherapy where I am working toward full accreditation with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

I have lived in Lincoln for 35 years where I combine practising and training in psychotherapy with a management position in the NHS and a family with three vibrant and energetic boys.

What to expect

We will discuss what you want from your sessions and what is important to you. If you don’t yet know what you want, but you know that you want something to change in your life, that is OK. We will work things out together and we will move forward at a pace that is right for you.

In every session my commitment to you is that you have the space to be heard and to explore things that feel difficult, painful or new.

The goals of my therapy are that you feel comfortable with yourself, that you are able to heal and grow from painful experiences and that you are empowered to make decisions about your life and how you want to live it.

How I work

I am a relational-developmental psychotherapist. This means that I am interested in how your relationships with others, particularly in your early years, have shaped how you make sense of the world.

It also means that I will be active and present in our sessions, providing support as we explore what is important in helping you to heal, grow and move forward.

This does not mean we will only talk about the past. We will focus on what is happening for you in the here and now to support you in making sense of how you are feeling and what you are experiencing.

A relational-development approach will help you identify patterns in your life that cause you to get stuck and feel ‘not right’ and will help you to heal and grow from painful experiences.

I am a trainee member of the United Kingdom Psychotherapy Council (UKCP) with full insurance and a clinical supervisor. I have a training interest in race and identity.

My fees reflect my trainee status.
